LYNX CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT’S INNOVATIONS
CONTINUE TO BE RECOGNIZED WITH TWO KEY AWARDS

MIAMI – October 28, 2016 – Coral Gables-based Lynx Construction Management has received two distinctive awards in 2016. The first of these is the Associated Builder and Contractors (ABC) Florida East Coast Chapter Excellence in Construction (EIC) Eagle Award for the construction of the New Miami-Dade County Animal Services Shelter. Receiving the Eagle Award from the ABC Florida East Coast Chapter qualifies Lynx to enter the project for the ABC’s National award, as well.

The ABC’s awards criteria include strict guidelines related to safety, innovation and many other elements of each project. The Miami-Dade County Animal Services Shelter project was selected for the submission from among Lynx’s portfolio due to the number of milestones and innovations it captures. The facility represents the largest air conditioned animal shelter in the USA, and establishes a national precedent for animal services. Lynx’s strategy for the construction sought to develop a facility that is an inviting, family-friendly community destination, while creating an energy-efficient and sustainable infrastructure that will provide protection during a natural disaster. From a technical standpoint, the construction entailed complex structural, engineering and logistical solutions to meet an accelerated timeline. The resultant facility sets a new industry standard by spanning multiple construction categories. Finally, the facility’s beneficial innovations directly benefit the community’s human and animal population, and ultimately contribute to Lynx’s vision of building a better Miami through projects that enrich South Florida’s communities.

“Receiving the ABC Florida East Coast Chapter’s award feels like a significant honor and achievement, given their stringent and detailed criteria,” stated Brian Shirley, VP of Operations for Lynx Construction Management. “Lynx Construction Management caught our attention for identifying positive go-forward solutions within this complex project, designed to make the lives of countless animals gentler and better,” added Jay Sweeney, Vice President of Member Services for the ABC Florida East Coast Chapter. “There is beauty and synchronicity in that achievement.”

This award comes in succession to Lynx’s receipt of the ABC Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) Diamond Award earlier in August. In addition, Lynx Construction Management was ranked as the Number 1 fastest-growing company in the over $25million revenue category by the South Florida Business Journal in 2016. This represents a transition as the second-ranked fastest-growing company in the under $25 million Category in 2015.
